On Saturday 18 May “Discovering the Path of San Francesco Caracciolo” arrives in Mignano Monte Lungo and remembers the figure of Ettore Fieramosca.

Fieramosca Castle is at the centre of this journey to the end of the Middle Ages.
The program starts at 17 pm, with the historical parade that, from Porta Fratte, will reach Piazza Croce, to the sound of trumpets and drums of the Sbandieratori dei Casali di Minturno. At the castle the re-enactment of the “Pace di Mignano”, by the Porta Fratte Cultural Circle, the historical theatrical re-enactments of the Compagnia della Rosa e della Spada, the tales of the Falconieri on birds of prey and the flight of hawks, owls and barn owls, with the participation of the street artists the Giullari in aerial balancing acts, juggling and fire-eating. Two medieval inns will offer typical dishes, such as the “Turcinelli campani”.
The grand finale will be a tournament between the eleven districts – Annolise, Ariani, Ariella, Campozillone, Caspoli, Marsecani, Moscuso, Pugliarone, Porta Fratte, San Francesco and Vago Romano – who will compete for the “Palio de Miniano”, with tug-of-war and archery challenges.
