“She didn't have the courage to abort, and she killed him afterwards… she is a devil, a monster, who deceived me, my son, and even the experts.”
These are the words of the husband of Adalgisa Gamba, the woman who suffocated her two-and-a-half-year-old son on January 2, 2022 in Torre del Greco, in the province of Naples.
Today, in courtroom 115 of the new Palace of Justice in Naples, the three super experts appointed by the Court presented the conclusions of their report, which declare the defendant “incapable of understanding and willing.” “They want to pass her off as a saint,” Gamba's husband said, “but he’s a monster.”
According to the experts, the psychosis that made Adalgisa Gamba incapable of understanding and willing began during her second pregnancy: “She thought she was tempting fate and feared her son might have autism,” experts stressed.
“For Adalgisa Gamba, the birth of her second child meant tempting fate: she believed that she had already been lucky the first time with the birth of her daughter, who now lives with her father and maternal grandmother”.
Furthermore, the experts recalled that on January 3, the day after the child's murder, a visit with the pediatrician was scheduled, who, according to the woman, would have confirmed the illness of her second-born, a disease that had never been confirmed.
