The countdown has begun for the switching on of the Luci d'Artista, an event that will mark Salerno as one of the main destinations for the Christmas holidays this year too.
In support of the event, Confcommercio Campania, together with the Municipality of Salerno and the Chamber of Commerce, has organised 'Jazz in Luce' and 'Fairy Tales for Artist Lights'. These initiatives promise to offer a unique experience to visitors and residents, with musical performances and extraordinary atmospheres that will animate the city center from December to January.Article Key Points
Jazz in Light
The tenth edition of the 'Jazz in Luce' festival, curated by Maestro Stefano Giuliano in collaboration with Sofy Music, will open on December 5th in Piazza Portanova with a concert by Groove At Home. It will continue on December 12th with Sister Sounds, an energetic all-female trio, and on December 19th with C'ammafunk, a band with roots in Campania known for its engaging funk sound. All musical performances will start at 19:00 pm.
Fairy Tales for Artist Lights
At the Augusteo Theatre, the Compagnia dell'Arte, led by Antonello Ronga, will offer four family shows centered on the world of fairy tales. It will start on December 7 with “Miracle at Notre Dame”, followed on December 21 by “The Grinch and the Christmas Miracle”. On December 29, “The Nutcracker Prince” will be performed, while on January 6, “Hakuna Matata” will close the series. The shows will begin at 18:30 p.m., with free admission upon invitation until seats are filled. The initiatives have been welcomed positively by the city authorities, who see these events as an opportunity to promote tourism and support the local economy. Dario Loffredo, councilor for commerce, and Alessandro Ferrara, councilor for productive activities, expressed optimism for the expected flow of visitors. Nino Marone, provincial president of Confcommercio Campania, also underlines the economic importance of these events. These joint efforts aim to make Salerno a welcoming and lively destination during the holidays, offering visitors unforgettable experiences and supporting the city's commercial activities.

The Luci d'Artista events look very interesting and creative, but I hope there won't be too many traffic problems for visitors. The jazz music is beautiful and the fairy tales are a great idea for families with children.
