An extraordinary year for Italian tennis ends with a bang: Italy conquers the Davis Cup 2024, signing the third triumph in its history after those of 1976 and 2023. The decisive point was given to the Azzurri by Jannik Sinner, which he defeated Tallon Greek Railway in the second singles of the final against the Netherlands.
On the indoor cement of the Palace of Deportes José María Martin Carpena from Malaga, the South Tyrolean, current number one in the world, won with a score of 7-6(2), 6-2, securing Italy a 2-0 win after the victory of Matteo Berrettini su Botic Van De Zandschulp.
Sinner's match, despite the result, was anything but predictable: Griekspoor, number 40 in the international ranking, showed a dazzling form, making the first set particularly hard-fought. In the tie-break, however, Sinner he showed all his class, dominating and paving the way for an easier victory in the second set.

It was a good match, but I'm not sure if Sinner did well to win so easily. Griekspoor played well, but maybe the Italian was too strong. Nice to see Italy win again.
