Naples. The bosses of the Pianura feud also ordered extortions from Italian prisons where they are detained thanks to illegally introduced cell phones. This morning the Naples mobile squad executed 15 precautionary measures, 13 of which in prison and two under house arrest.
These are bosses and affiliates and henchmen of the Esposito/Marsicano clan accused, to varying degrees, of mafia-type association, attempted murder, possession and carrying of firearms, extortion, illicit use of telephone equipment while in custody and drug dealing.
The investigations, conducted by the Naples Flying Squad, were started following the kidnapping and subsequent murder of Andrea Covelli, whose body was found on 1 July 2022 abandoned in a forest in this Pignatiello district
After that murder, there was a blitz on July 14, 2022 with the arrest of 34 people and which disjointed the two clans that were fighting at the time, namely the Carillo-Perfect and the Esposito-Marsicanos, precisely. The subsequent investigation activity, carried out since July 2022 with technical activities, has made it possible to highlight a persistent Camorra conduct of the Esposito/Marsicano clan, which has managed to regenerate itself by maintaining constant armed control of the territory in Pianura also through alliances with criminal exponents of the nearby Soccavo district.
In particular, numerous extortions were highlighted (some of which were plotted by individuals in detention using illegally obtained cell phones) to the detriment of businesses in that area. One of the suspects is also charged with an attempted murder that occurred in Pianura on August 24, 2022.

The article talks about very serious and complex situations. It is incredible how the bosses manage to continue their activities even from prison, using illegal phones. This shows how difficult it is to fight the mafia in Italy.
