A disturbing incident has shaken the outskirts of Naples, in the Ponticelli neighborhood. A young woman was attacked after getting into a car mistaking it for a taxi.
The driver of the vehicle began to harass her and, when the victim tried to defend herself, the man physically attacked her, also stealing her cell phone. In a desperate attempt to escape, the woman opened the door and threw herself out of the moving car.
Intervention and arrest
A citizen promptly notified the State Police after witnessing the scene, stating that a woman had thrown herself from a moving car. The officers, who quickly rushed to the scene, discovered that it had all started in Corso Umberto.
Thanks to the descriptions received of the vehicle and the perpetrator of the attack, the police officers of the Vasto-Arenaccia Police Station were able to track down the vehicle in Via Brin.
Discovery and denunciation
The perpetrator, a 38-year-old from Caserta, was found in possession of the victim's personal effects and arrested on charges of robbery and sexual assault. In addition, several identity documents belonging to other people were found in the vehicle, the source of which the man was unable to explain, also leading to a complaint for receiving stolen goods.
