Great artists and a unique collaboration
Maestro Zimmer, famous for his soundtracks to films such as “The Lion King” and “Interstellar,” will participate in the concert by introducing and playing some of his most famous compositions. Monsignor Frisina will also be on stage with some of his works, accompanied by the Nova Opera Orchestra, made up of 75 European musicians, and the Choir of the Diocese of Rome, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
Solidarity and inclusion
This edition of the concert will welcome 8.000 spectators, including 3.000 indigents who will be “guests of honor.” They will be invited by the Dicastery for the Service of Charity and several voluntary associations, and will also receive a picnic dinner. The private audience of Pope Francis will open the day, reserved for artists and partners of Nova Opera. The “Concert with the Poor” is an annual event born in 2015, which unites art and charity, sponsored by Vatican entities. Previous concerts have featured well-known international musicians such as Ennio Morricone and Nicola Piovani.
Sustainability Initiatives
This year, the event will be enriched by the theme of environmental sustainability thanks to partners engaged in ethically responsible activities. The non-profit Yourban2030 will donate two street art works by Atoche, made with special paints that purify the air. AzzeroCO2 and Nova Opera are also promoting the planting of 150 olive trees, encouraging inclusive and fair trade agriculture practices. The initiative also aims to spread a message of environmental awareness, together with educational activities such as the distribution of plantable paper bookmarks to spectators, underlining the importance of small ecological gestures. The evening includes a partnership with the “Mercatino dell'Usato”, which will contribute by donating clothes to those in need, with a view to fighting fast fashion and promoting reuse.
