From 19pm to 19pm, the Christmas lights of the tree in Piazza Municipio, the decorations and Palazzo San Giacomo will be turned off as a sign of mourning and reflection.

“It is important to participate in this demonstration,” said Santo Romano’s aunt, who announced the event on social media together with the Green-Sinister Alliance MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli. “Not only for Santo, but for all the victims of insane and criminal acts. This Christmas many families will have an empty seat at the table, and it is right to make them feel warmth and closeness.”

Borrelli stressed the importance of not forgetting: “A month and a half has passed since Santo’s death and already some people seem to have forgotten him. We cannot allow this. We invite everyone to put Christmas shopping aside for a moment, to suspend thoughts of the holidays, and to dedicate a few hours to Santo’s family, who will be experiencing Christmas without him this year. Being at their side means showing humanity and closeness, the least we can do.”

A strong message that recalls the importance of remembrance and solidarity, even during the Christmas holidays.

  1. And it is something that must be reflected, because there is too much violence and it must not be forgotten. Everyone should participate in this event out of respect for the victims. Life is precious and should not be wasted like this.
