Körper, Centro Nazionale di Produzione della Danza, has been awarded the 2024 Ubu Prize for Best Dance Show thanks to “Stuporosa”, conceived by Francesco Marilungo. The recognition represents a prestigious achievement in the Italian performing arts sector and comes after nominations for Best Dance Show and Sound Project/Original Music. “Stuporosa” shares this triumph with “redrum” by the nanou group, formed by Marco Valerio Amico and Rhuena Bracci.
The award ceremony, held on December 16 at the Teatro Arena del Sole in Bologna, saw the recognition assigned to the artists and their cultural contribution.
Dedicated to Gennaro Cimmino
Körper representatives dedicated the victory to Gennaro Cimmino, remembered for his significant contribution to the project. Their words underline the artistic value that Cimmino has transmitted: “We dedicate this award to Gennaro Cimmino, who continues to be with us in every goal, made possible by his unconditional love for art, dance, creativity”.
Creative approach and meaning of “Stuporosa”
Francesco Marilungo describes “Stuporosa” as an ecosystem where interactions between performers and physical environments build a microcosm of empathy and mutual support. Sacrifice was central to the creation of a performance that draws on ancient rituals, with the collaboration of artists Alice Raffaelli, Barbara Novati, Roberta Racis, Francesca Linnea Ugolini, Vera Di Lecce and Martina di Prato.
Recognition of the collective contribution
Marilungo thanked the team and partners, including the Teatro delle Moire, who were instrumental in the success of “Stuporosa”. Special thanks were given to Gennaro Cimmino, whose birth was symbolically remembered on the day of the awards ceremony, highlighting his lasting influence on the project.

Beautiful article, but I don't understand why only Gennaro Cimmino is mentioned. Of course he is important, but there are also other artists who have contributed and deserve attention. Dance is a team effort, and everyone should be mentioned.
