The 2025 Capri Hollywood Film Festival will premiere the film “The Monk Who Won the Apocalypse,” a work that explores the themes of dreams, hope, and the strength of the spirit. The screening is scheduled at the Capri Auditorium on the afternoon of January 2, with the participation of actress Elisabetta Pellini and make-up supervisor Vittorio Sodano, known for his two Oscar® nominations.

A film of content and reflections

The event, part of the 29th edition of the festival, is a celebration of cinema that aims to go beyond simple entertainment to touch the chords of human feelings. “The Monk Who Won the Apocalypse,” directed by Jordan River, was released in Italian theaters in December and enjoyed good success in its national tour. The film focuses on the thought of Gioacchino da Fiore and his announcement of the Third Time of the History of Salvation. Through a multi-layered narrative, the film immerses itself in a spiritual journey in search of deeper meanings beyond the transience of earthly life.

A success among critics and audiences

Distributed in collaboration with Delta Star Pictures, the film immediately sold out and will continue its programming in single theaters in 2025, thus supporting the culture spread throughout Italy. In addition, it will be distributed internationally by TVCO – International Distribution in several countries that have expressed interest. In the enchanting setting of the Island of Capri, the preview of the film promises to be an event of reflection and spirituality.

An international cast and the support of the institutions

The cast of “The Monk Who Won the Apocalypse” includes actors such as Nikolay Moss, Bill Hutchens, Francesco Turbanti and Elisabetta Pellini. The collaboration of various entities, including the Calabria Film Commission Foundation and the Lazio Region, made the making of the film possible, which also enjoyed the contribution of the Ministry of Culture and the collaboration of the FAI – Fondo Ambiente Italiano. The original music is by Michele Josia, while the production team boasts professionals such as director of photography Gianni Mammolotti and editor Alessio Focardi.
