A hail of bullets hit a warehouse during the night garage for cars to Corby, hilltop town in the Nocera countryside.
As many as 27 shots were fired against the shutter of the premises, in a raid that left the community in alarm. The police immediately intervened on the spot police of the Territorial Department of Nocera Inferiore, supported by the Scientific Police, for the relevant surveys.
According to initial reconstructions, the bullets could have been fired with a machine gun, considering the caliber found. However, the weapon used has not yet been identified and investigations are underway to ascertain the dynamics and motivations of the incident.
In the meantime, the premises have been placed under seizure, while investigators are maintaining the utmost confidentiality on the operations in progress.
The normally quiet area was shaken by the episode, which brings attention to the phenomenon of intimidating acts linked to the criminal context. The population awaits answers, while the carabinieri are working to shed light on who wanted to send such a violent message and for what reason.
The owner of the facility, interviewed after preliminary information, reported that he had never received threats or extortion requests, nor was he able to give an explanation for such a violent and blatant gesture.
