A family tragedy shakes Salerno. Carla D'Acunto, 58, a well-known and beloved restaurateur in the city, took her own life after a heated argument with her son Guido, 32, now under investigation for incitement to suicide.
The episode, which occurred in the Sala Abbagnano neighborhood, left the community in mourning and opened a painful judicial chapter. According to the reconstruction, Carla and Guido were in the car when an argument broke out between the two.
The woman, getting out of the vehicle, threw herself into the void despite her son's attempt to hold her back. Guido's lawyer Michele Sarno describes a "boy destroyed by pain", unable to understand his mother's extreme gesture.
“He can't understand how he could have done something like this,” the lawyer said, adding that the young man is still in shock and has not yet been formally questioned by the police.
There was a very strong bond between mother and son, as underlined by the lawyer himself. However, the family was going through a period of deep bitterness due to the accusations of mistreatment made against Guido by his ex-partner.
These accusations led to the application of the electronic bracelet and the ban on seeing her two young daughters, a measure only recently eased with the granting of protected meetings. Even Carla, initially deprived of the possibility of meeting her granddaughters, had experienced a moment of relief when the proceedings against her were archived a few weeks ago. "I showed her the provision and she was very happy," recalled the lawyer Sarno.
On the motive for the suicide, the lawyer said he was perplexed: "It seems impossible to me that from an argument one could arrive at the decision to take one's life. No discussion can justify a choice of that kind. From here to talking about incitement to suicide, there is a long way to go." Meanwhile, the Salerno Public Prosecutor's Office, which is coordinating the Carabinieri investigation, has ordered an autopsy on the woman's body, whose funeral will be held tomorrow at 9.30:XNUMX in the church of Our Lady of Fatima.
Carla D'Acunto was a well-known and respected figure in Salerno. After managing a clothing store in the historic center, she opened a restaurant appreciated by the community. Social networks were filled with messages of condolence and touching memories.
“A special friend, always ready to give advice”, “a beautiful soul, always smiling”, “a ray of sunshine, a brave woman”: this is how she is described by those who have known her. Images and words portray her happy in her restaurant, surrounded by friends and customers.
Despite having faced health problems, Carla had always appeared combative and full of life. Until that tragic gesture that left a deep void in her family and in the community of Salerno. Now, as the city prepares to bid her final farewell, many questions remain about what happened and the dynamics that led to this dramatic decision.
