Maddaloni hosts the first edition of the Biennale delle Arti AMA (Arte + Maddaloni + Architettura), an initiative that aims at urban and cultural regeneration through art, design and contemporary architecture. It will continue until April 21, during which the city will become an exhibition stage with exhibitions, installations and performances by the various participants.
Introduction to the Biennale
The Biennale was inaugurated at the Convitto Nazionale “G. Bruno”, with the presence of local authorities and the artistic director Luca Molinari. Mayor Andrea De Filippo highlighted the importance of the event as an opportunity to rediscover the local artistic heritage and promote legality. With the theme “New stories (for the future)”, the event aims to explore innovative scenarios, connecting past and present. Mariano Nuzzo, Superintendent of ABAP, highlighted the contribution of art in visual culture and urban renewal.
Exhibitions and Events
The Biennale exhibition, set up at the Complesso del Convitto Nazionale “Giordano Bruno”, presents works by around seventy artists, both Italian and international. At its core is the theme “New stories (for the future)”, a dialogue between realism and vision, between present and future. At the Museo Civico, the exhibition “New stories. When the ancient and the present embrace” brings together contemporary works with historical collections. Finally, the Church of Santa Maria dei Comandati hosts “New stories (for San Michele and the whole sky!)”, focused on the interaction between art, spirituality and urban memory.
International Involvement and Cultural Heritage
AMA is configured as a platform for international dialogue, involving artists from Argentina, France and the United Kingdom. The Biennial aims to leave a tangible cultural mark on the city, increasing awareness of local heritage. More details on the program are available on the website www.amamaddaloni.it. The events are open to all and free.

The art biennial is an interesting initiative for the city of Maddaloni, but I don't know if it will have a big impact as they say. Maybe it's just an opportunity for some artists to exhibit their work.
