Over 290 boys and girls between the ages of six and 14 in Naples, coming from highly fragile contexts and families with serious economic difficulties and at serious risk of social exclusion, were involved in six months in educational and socialization activities as part of the project “Learning to Grow” by Fondazione L'Albero della Vita Ets. An astonishing result that exceeded the initial goal of the project set at 200 children.
The commitment and the important presence on the territory of Napoli of the Foundation have in fact allowed us to surpass the goal, involving a total of 2024 minors between September 2025 and March 292 with actions aimed at combating educational poverty, a complex phenomenon that impacts various aspects of the lives of boys and girls, including their sense of self-esteem, physical and psycho-cognitive development, academic performance and social relationships. A result that for the Foundation is confirmation of how, by strategically and effectively investing the resources of private donors, it is possible to obtain an even more significant impact.
Thanks to the experience gained over time and the strong capillary presence in the territory, the Foundation has managed to go beyond expectations on the project Learning to Grow, supported by Shein, a global online retailer of fashion and lifestyle, generating real change for hundreds of minors in fragile conditions.
Acting in the context of family, school and community life of the child, making it safer, richer in opportunities and more suitable for its growth. These are the main objectives of the project that is divided into three main lines of action: support for study and socialization, improving school performance and addressing gaps through effective study methods.
Secondly, paths of knowledge and storytelling of one's own territory with visits, participatory events and concrete actions to reclaim spaces of sociality and cultural heritage. Finally, the activation of sports skills to participate for free for ten months in sports paths, a valid opportunity for healthy growth and education in the values of sport. The project Learning to Grow represents only a small example of partnership between companies and third sector entities.
Today, there are more and more companies that choose to become authors and actors of change in the communities in which they operate, in the territories in which they produce, in the places reached by their products and services. In fact, more and more companies choose to become promoters of change, investing in concrete projects that create value for society. Creating social impact with Fondazione l'Albero della Vita means exactly this: contributing to building a future for many children and young people, so that they can be better adults tomorrow. The Foundation's is a great goal that needs "great enterprises".
