Yellow alert for severe weather in Campania.
In Naples, Ferragosto (August 15th) will be marked by severe weather and extraordinary safety measures. The City Council has ordered the closure of all city parks and public beaches, along with a ban on access to the Bagnoli North Pier, for the entire day of Friday, August 15th. This decision follows the yellow weather alert issued by the Campania Civil Protection Department , which predicted adverse weather conditions with possible showers and thunderstorms, including moderate intensity, from 12:00 PM until midnight.
This is a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring the safety of residents and tourists on one of the busiest days of the summer, when the sea and green spaces are particularly appealing. The measure aims to avoid risky situations related to potential flooding, falling branches or trees, and poor visibility in the event of heavy rainfall. Similar weather events have previously caused disruption and accidents, which is why the administration has chosen to act early, restricting access to the most exposed areas.
Citizens are urged to limit non-essential travel during the hours of the alert, paying close attention to weather conditions and the instructions issued by official authorities. Civil protection associations and municipal emergency response teams will also be on high alert throughout the emergency, ready to intervene if necessary.
