Exodus, red dot for the weekend: heavy traffic expected from tomorrow

Share

Sun, heat, and the upcoming Ferragosto holiday will favor travel over the weekend of August 9th to 11th, the last weekend of the summer exodus. Autovie reports this, specifying that over 180,000 traffic is expected on Saturday and 146,000 on Sunday. Traffic will be in the red zone starting tomorrow, Friday, August 9th, with heavy traffic delays along the A4 Venice-Trieste motorway at the Trieste Lisert exit. Traffic will also be heavy in the opposite direction. Congestion will affect the A57 Mestre ring road towards Trieste, while traffic will be heavy towards Venice. To improve traffic flow, a ban on heavy vehicles will be in effect starting tomorrow, Friday, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Traffic will also be in the red zone on Saturday, August 10th, with very high traffic on the A4 motorway in both directions and possible traffic jams at the toll booths leading to the seaside resorts (Latisana, San Stino, San Donà di Piave, Trieste Lisert). To reduce congestion, the Concessionaire has increased staffing at the so-called seaside toll booths and also at Villesse, in case traffic is redirected along the A34 (the bypass is activated when the queue at the Lisert exit reaches 6 kilometers). Also on Saturday, traffic will be heavy along the A23 Palmanova-Tarvisio in both directions, with possible queues at the A4/A23 junction. Traffic will be heavy along the A57 in both directions. Heavy vehicles will be prohibited from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The motorway will also be busy on Sunday, August 11, with possible congestion at the Trieste Lisert exit and at the toll booths leading to the sea. On the A57, however, traffic will be heavy in both directions, but without excessive congestion. The ban on heavy vehicles will begin at 7:00 a.m. and end at 10:00 p.m. No significant disruptions are expected on Thursday, August 15, the day of the Assumption. Those most affected will be seaside commuters: traffic will therefore be heavy along the A4 motorway in both directions, with possible delays near the toll booths leading to the seaside resorts. On Thursday, August 15, heavy vehicles will be prohibited from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Autovie reports that the most critical points (Latisana, Palmanova, San Giorgio di Nogaro), given the presence of construction sites for the third lane, will be manned by mechanical assistance services ready to intervene rapidly. In San Donà di Piave and San Giorgio, furthermore, a 118 emergency service will be present. Autovie reminds those heading to Slovenia that they can purchase a vignette at the service areas on the A4 (Bazzera Sud, Calstorta Sud, Fratta Sud, Gonars Sud, Duino Sud, and Duino Nord) and at those on the A28 (Brugnera Sud and Gruaro Ovest).
