Tales of the Sea, Federico II announces the 10 finalists of the XNUMXnd level Master in Dramaturgy and Cinematography.
The Master of Dramaturgy and Cinematography of the University of Naples Federico II and the “Penisola Sorrentina” Award make public the selections of the competition that saw the participation of 400 works from all over the world. Italy, Australia, the United Kingdom and Iran triumph
Ten finalists have been selected by the scientific commission of the 2nd level Master in Dramaturgy and Cinematography at the University of Naples Federico II for the contest: “Racconti di mare”, promoted among the projects and special activities of the twenty-seventh edition of the “Penisola Sorrentina Arturo Esposito” Award.
400 works from the audiovisual sector arrived from all over the world, ranging from short films to video art.
Here are the titles and authors of the 10 works selected by the Jury, chaired by the coordinator of the Master Pasquale Sabbatino and composed of the teachers Vincenzo Caputo, Anna Masecchia, Matteo Palumbo and Giuseppina Scognamiglio:
“The Privilege of the Last Wave” by Michele Cioffi; “By the Sea” by Sebastian Petri; “Beyond Dreams” by Fabio Ruffo and Daniele Violante; “Calamour” by Niccolò Gentili; “Joy” by Eduardo Castaldo; “Fisherman” by Nicolas and Raffaele Spatarella; “To the Sea” by Daniele De Stefano and Pasquale Fresegna; “Wolfchant” by Aurianne Mackney and Hannah Nichols (Australia); “They Went to the Sea” by Jola Kudela alias Yola (United Kingdom); “Abdullah’s Mother” by Asghar Besharati (Iran – Islamic Republic).
Among the finalist works, those worthy of a special mention will now be identified, as well as the winner of the contest, who will receive the creativity grant in cash made available by the Banco di Napoli Foundation chaired by Francesco Caia.
The winner will be officially announced during an event dedicated to the sea, produced under the brand of the “Penisola Sorrentina” Award and organized in collaboration with the Metropolitan City of Naples and the Campania Region.
“Unravelling the thread of creativity to enhance the centrality of the sea in our daily life and in our culture is an important and qualified action that, through initiatives of this kind, we will continue to implement, also to reclaim the Sorrento Peninsula and the Gulf of Naples"its strategic role as a cultural, economic and tourist crossroads of the Euro-Mediterranean area", declares the Metropolitan Councilor of Naples with responsibility for the sea, as well as Mayor of Meta, Giuseppe Tito.
