Minister Sangiuliano inaugurates the Penisola Sorrentina Award by opening the proceedings of the Penisola Sorrentina Award for cinema and audiovisuals, which concluded on Saturday 29 October in Sorrento and was opened by Mayor Massimo Coppola.
The award, sponsored by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Culture, saw Donatella Palermo and Fabrizio Ferracane awarded in the evening for “Leonora Addio” by Paolo Tavani (the only Italian film in competition at the Berlinale), Totò Cascio, protagonist of the short “A occhi aperti” and “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso”; Francesco Di Leva for his interpretation; Marina Confalone with the lifetime achievement award from the Master in Cinematography at the Federico II University; Anna Mazzamauro; Anna Pavignano, Luigi Pane for his first work: “Un mondo in più”, the composer Rita Marcotulli, the British star Amy Macdonald. Institutional recognition for the audiovisual: “Procida Italian Capital of Culture 2022”, produced by the Italian Navy. The host Alessandra Viero was the godmother of the television evening.
“An award that aims to combine the beauty of these places with the cultural dimension of these places. Italy is a cultural superpower of the planet. Our oil is made up of that cultural stratification that occurred during the passage of very important eras. We have the duty to cultivate our heritage. It will be my daily commitment“: this is what Sangiuliano stated during his introductory speech to the Award organized and directed by Mario Esposito.
