The Naples Public Prosecutor's Office has assigned the tasks to the consultants who will carry out the autopsy examinations on the bodies of the two people killed in the car that exploded on the Naples ring road a few days ago.
Fulvio Filace and Maria Vittoria Prati, respectively 25 and 66 years old, the first an engineering graduate and the second an engineer and researcher at the CNR, died in the Cardarelli hospital after being seriously injured in the explosion of the hybrid prototype car they were testing.
The tests will be carried out by Professor Pietro Tarsitano, Chief Emeritus of Forensic Medicine, and the pathologist Antonio Perna. The tests, according to what has been learned, will begin in the next few days, in the second polyclinic of the city.
In the meantime, investigations are continuing, delegated to the Carabinieri of the Naples Investigative Unit and the RIS of Rome. Currently, the investigators are examining several issues, including training contracts, the rules that regulate the use of interns for projects, and the use of funds (including European ones).
Also crucial will be the investigations that will allow us to trace the causes of the explosion which, according to an initial analysis, could be traced back to the contents of some cylinders used to test the emissions into the environment of the prototype, a Volkswagen Polo Tdi with a traditional internal combustion engine on which a solar-powered propulsion system had been mounted.
