On Saturday afternoon an agent of the Ischia police station, free from service, while passing through via John Baptist Vico in Ischia, he noticed two people looking suspiciously at the names on the intercoms of some buildings and one of them entering a building and then leaving, after a few minutes, showing the other something.
The policeman contacted the police station to ask for the support of a patrol which, having arrived on the scene, identified the two who, at the sight of them, attempted to escape but were stopped and one of them was found in possession of 1050 € while the other of a handbag containing various gold jewels whose provenance they were unable to explain.
The operators accompanied them to the police station to identify them when, shortly after, a woman showed up at the police station with her elderly parents who recognized one of the two as the perpetrator of a robbery committed against them shortly before.
In particular, they said they had been contacted by telephone by a person who, posing as his nephew, had asked for money because his mother had been stopped by the Carabinieri for not having paid bills and 6000 thousand euros were needed as bail for his release, therefore a man would come by to collect the money.
After a while, the latter showed up and the elderly gentleman asked him for documents but the man pushed him and locked him in the kitchen and then ordered the woman to give him the money; finally, after taking possession of 1050 euros and various gold jewellery, he pushed the lady who attempted to resist and walked away.
The two, one 19 year old from Latina and a 16enne di Napoli, were arrested for kidnapping, aggravated robbery, resisting a public official; furthermore, the 19-year-old was reported for receiving stolen goods.
