Naples, from July 3rd the electronic identity card will be issued only by reservation

From 3 July 2023 the municipality of Napoli will issue the Electronic Identity Card exclusively upon reservation. The CIE can be requested starting from 180 days before the expiration of your identity card or following loss, theft or deterioration.

The appointment can be made by calling the toll-free number 800776565, active from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 18:00, or online, by accessing the address "prenotacie.comune.Napoli.it" using your Spid or CIE credentials to authenticate.

The user can request an appointment, choosing the location of the municipality based on their needs and the availability of dates and times. It will be necessary to enter on the platform dedicated to reservations or communicate to the call-center operator: personal data; tax code; telephone number and email address. The document is sent by the State Mint and Polygraph, as delivery on sight at the counter is not foreseen.

When submitting the request to the Municipality, citizens residing in Italy can choose one of the various methods of delivery of the document, that is, at the address of residence, at an address of their choice or at the offices of the Municipalities. The cost of the new identity card is 22,21 euros (16,79 euros for the Poligrafico dello Stato, production and sending of the document, in addition to fixed and secretarial fees).

For adults, the maximum validity is 10 years. For minors, the validity varies depending on the age of the holder: for minors up to 3 years, 3 years; for the age group from 3 to 18 years, 5 years. For citizens of EU or non-EU countries, the identity card has the sole value of an identification document and does not constitute a title for expatriation.

Non-EU citizens must show a valid residence permit or receipt for renewal. When requesting the Electronic Identity Card, it is possible to express consent/denial to organ and tissue donation.

This choice is entered into the database of the Ministry of Health, which will allow the doctors of the Regional Coordination of Donations and Collections of Organs and Tissues to consult, in the event of a possible donation, the declaration of intent.
