In the week leading up to the Ferragosto holiday, as part of the checks coordinated by the Labour Inspectorate and the Guardia di Finanza, a joint blitz was launched in the territory of Giugliano, where agricultural activities related to tomato harvesting operate.

They will be contested administrative sanctions for approximately 30.000 euros, in addition to social security and insurance recoveries, as well as adopting the expected prescription measures in terms of health and safety.
It has been reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Napoli North an employer for the illicit employment of workers without a residence permit and for exploitation of labor, pursuant to art. 603 bis of the Criminal Code (it is recalled that the subject ).
The operation is the result of the close active synergy between State Institutions, further strengthened by the Memorandum of Understanding signed at the time between the INL and the General Command of the Guardia di Finanza.
The surveillance activities in agriculture, aimed primarily at combating the phenomenon of gangmastering, are carried out, moreover, within the framework of the memorandum on the subject of "combating the labor exploitation of foreign citizens and protecting migrants who are victims of crime" requested last July by the Public Prosecutor of Naples North, which involved all the institutional actors responsible for combating labor exploitation.
