UAn injured swimmer, alone, who could not be reached by land was rescued yesterday afternoon by the Ischia Coast Guard.

The woman had hurt herself on the rocks of Pelara Bay, accessible only on foot via a rugged path, and needed medical attention for the consequences of the fall: the island's Port Authority intervened with the SAR patrol boat with 118 operators on board and a fast boat.

Once they reached the injured woman, she was put on a stretcher and hoisted aboard the patrol boat which in a few minutes reached the port of Casamicciola where an ambulance took her to the Rizzoli hospital.
