The Civil Protection of the Campania Region has issued a Yellow level weather alert for rain and thunderstorms, valid until 20:9 pm on Saturday XNUMX March.
The areas affected are the Campanian Plain, Naples, the Islands, the Vesuvian Area, the Upper Volturno, the Matese, the Sorrento-Amalfi Peninsula, the Sarno Mountains, the Picentini Mountains, the Tusciano and the Upper Sele.
Scattered precipitation is expected, with possible showers or severe thunderstorms. The thunderstorms could evolve rapidly and be particularly severe, accompanied by hail, lightning and gusts of wind.
It is advisable to pay attention to the hydrogeological risk, as flooding, rising water levels, water flows on roads, runoff with transport of material, falling rocks and landslides could occur.
It is important to consider that due to soil saturation and the hydrogeological fragility of some territories, landslides and rockfalls could occur even in the absence of new precipitation.
