As part of a search at San Marcellino, in the Caserta area, the carabinieri discovered a real arsenal hidden in the house of a local farmer.
Numerous weapons, including rifles and a modified pistol, along with ammunition and over 300 doses of hashish and marijuana, were found and seized.
The material was well hidden in various rooms of the house, carefully packaged and ready for use.
The 54-year-old owner of the weapons was unable to provide plausible explanations for their possession and was arrested for illegal possession of weapons and drug trafficking. A cohabiting family member was also involved in the operation and was reported for the same crimes.
Both were reported to the competent authorities and the 54-year-old was taken to prison pending further developments in the judicial proceedings.
