At the Historical Archaeological Museum of Nola the presentation of the two latest documentaries by Pasquale Napolitano

On Saturday 20 April 2024 the Historical Archaeological Museum of Nola will host the screening of the documentary Qualcosa Resta by Pasquale Napolitano, produced by Nephila Film with the contribution of the Campania Film Commission for Development.

The event, organized in collaboration with the Meridies Association, the Pro Loco Nola Città d'arte and the Museum Management, will see the author of the film in conversation with Rita Alessandra Fusco. Qualcosa Resta (Italy, 39′) is a journey through places and communities forty years after the 1980 earthquake, an event that changed the physiognomy of the territory from both a topographical and anthropological point of view.

Pasquale Napolitano's documentary focuses on the analysis and narration of the spaces and signs that, with their presence, remain as monuments of a historical phase of the country and, at the same time, are able to vividly tell its consequences in the present.

Thanks to a series of testimonies, Napolitano aims to narrate the territory in a new and personal way, placing himself in the perspective of those who live in the places marked by the earthquake.

The evening will also be an opportunity to present to the public and associations Napolitano's next project, the film Il Laboratorio (Italy, 2024) on the work of Vittorio Avella and Antonio Sgambati who for 50 years tirelessly run the only surviving printing house in Campania. The film will be shot in the second half of 2024: it is written by Pasquale Napolitano with Daniela Allocca, directed by Pasquale Napolitano and produced by Lapej Communication.

Pasquale Napolitano is a professor of Methodology and Audiovisual Techniques at the Academy of Fine Arts in Napoli. In addition to his academic experience, he is a multimedia designer and film-maker who has participated in numerous exhibitions, reviews, residencies and festivals in Italy and Europe. In his career, he has directed numerous documentaries, focusing mainly on artistic themes. He has created several environmental audiovisual installations and has worked on numerous video art and motion design projects. In all the expressive forms he uses there is a common element: the narration of spaces.
