Salerno boy attacked by baby gang: the president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, expressed strong condemnation for the attack suffered by a boy in Salerno on Saturday evening, by a baby gang.
The episode, which took place in Piazza della Libertà, saw a group of 16-year-old boys brutally beat the victim.
“I reported this serious episode to the Prefect of Salerno,” De Luca said, “which represents an act of unprecedented violence by young people who evidently live in a problematic family context.
I urge parents to take greater control of their children and the police to step up night patrols to ensure the safety of citizens. It is intolerable that such attacks occur.”
De Luca also stigmatized the behavior of some members of the baby gang, who posted photos on social media with guns in their hands and with the “Acab” logo, offensive towards the police.
“I request immediate intervention to bring these criminals to justice,” the governor concluded, “and, if necessary, to order their pretrial detention. We can no longer allow our youth to be left in disarray and for episodes of this gravity to occur.”
