Castellammare. A joint operation by the Carabinieri of Castellammare di Stabia and the Calabrian Helicopter Squadron led to the arrest of three people and the seizure of an arsenal of weapons and explosives, drugs, and protected wild animals.
The raids took place as part of intensified controls along the coast of Stabia and on the Lattari Mountains, areas that are particularly active in this period for illegal cannabis cultivation.
During the searches, the Carabinieri discovered:
170 grams of explosive gunpowder, 2 pyrotechnic devices and 18 electric detonators with remote control at the home of Vincenzo Gargiulo, a 48-year-old already known to the police.
20 explosive devices, including 3 homemade ones, inside an illegal body shop managed by Domenico Iacone, 52 years old. The man was also reported for possession of 20 grams of marijuana.
