The boss of Torretta, Rosario Piccirillo known as o' biondo, and his son Antonio – who in the past had dissociated himself from his father's choices, even becoming a symbol of the battles against the clans – were arrested by the police following a custodial order for attempted extortion aggravated by mafia methods.

According to the charges, they allegedly made extortionate demands against entrepreneurs who manage the moorings for pleasure boats at the Mergellina docks.
In particular, Antonio Piccirillo, presenting himself as an emissary of his father - currently in prison and a well-known member of organized crime in the area - allegedly threatened the victims to obtain the exclusive management of some mooring buoys and, in some cases, even the hiring of compliant personnel.
Furthermore, in some situations, they would have claimed exclusive control of boats moored at the victims' buoy fields, intended for rental. Despite his commitment to anti-Camorra demonstrations and his declared detachment from the criminal environment, Antonio Piccirillo he was arrested on the serious charge of attempted extortion aggravated by mafia methods.
The order, issued by the preliminary investigations judge of Naples at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA), involves magistrates Mariangela Magariello and Celeste Carrano.

Among the victims of the attempted racket is also the TikToker Rita De Crescenzo together with her husband, who managed some of the moorings in question. Antonio Piccirillo allegedly presented himself to the victims as his father's representative, threatening them and making requests for exclusive management of specific mooring areas, including the demand to hire trusted personnel and monopolistic control of some boats intended for rental.
Despite this accusation, Piccirillo had participated in several initiatives against the Camorra, publicly declaring his detachment from organized crime and taking part in an anti-Camorra sit-in in May 2019, following the wounding of little Noemi in an ambush in Naples.
