Milan Napoli Free-to-Air – The match between AC Milan and Napoli, broadcast on DAZN, marked a historic moment for Italian football: nearly 1,9 million viewers watched the match, the first Serie A match to be broadcast free-to-air in nearly 30 years. Specifically, the match, won by Antonio Conte's Azzurri, drew an audience of 1.883.064, as announced by the platform.
This match proved to be the most watched in a midweek round since the 2014-2015 season, surpassing the numbers of the first leg matches of the last two seasons on Dazn, both played on Sunday evening. With a peak of 1,9 million viewers, Milan-Napoli also became the second most watched match of the season on Dazn, just behind the Derby della Madonnina, which totaled almost 2 million views.
“We are very satisfied with the result achieved through a completely new viewing mode, in line with the current habits of the public, which has brought a premium right such as Serie A to an even wider audience,” commented Stefano Azzi, CEO of Dazn Italy. “This was the goal we set ourselves last year, when we invested in the desire to attract a new audience of fans,” he concluded.
