More moments of fear today in Scampia, a suburb of Naples, where part of the attic between the fifth and sixth floors of the Vela Rossa collapsed. Fortunately, the accident did not cause injuries, but it made it necessary to immediately evacuate three families.

The Fire Department and the State Police intervened on site to secure the area and start the first investigations into the causes of the collapse. The episode brings to mind the tragic collapse that occurred last July 22 in the nearby Celestial Sailing, where three people lost their lives and 12 were injured, including seven children.

This time too, the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation to clarify any responsibilities. The incident highlights, once again, the serious structural conditions in which these symbolic buildings are located, for years at the center of urban redevelopment projects that have never fully materialized.
