The Swedish prosecutor has closed the investigation into alleged rape and sexual assault involving the famous French footballer Kylian Mbappé. In an official statement, prosecutor Marina Chirakova explained that the investigation was closed due to lack of sufficient evidence to proceed.
“My assessment is that there is insufficient evidence to proceed and the investigation is therefore closed”, Chirakova said. Without mentioning Mbappé directly, the press release specifies that no notification of suspected crime has been formally issued against the footballer.
The investigation, which attracted international media attention, was launched following reports of alleged abuse. However, according to the investigation, the evidence gathered did not support a charge. With the closure of the case, Mbappé is definitively out of the scope of the investigation.

It's strange how some cases are closed without any real clarification. If there are such serious accusations, perhaps they should be investigated further. Justice must take its course and not stop here.
