The audience data for the second evening of the Sanremo Festival have been released, with an average of 11.410.000 viewers, corresponding to a 64,1 percent share.
The first part of the show, broadcast between 21:15 PM and 23:25 PM, attracted 14.437.000 viewers and a 63,22 percent share, while the second part attracted 7.287.000 viewers, with a 66,72 percent share. Prime time ratings are provided for comparison purposes.
Compared to the previous edition, the second evening of the Festival, held last year, had attracted 10.361.000 spectators, for a share of 60,1 percent. The first part of that edition had 13.434.000 spectators (57,6 percent share), while the second part had been seen by 6.899.000 spectators, corresponding to a 66,2 percent share.
The novelty this year is the methodology implemented by Auditel, which has introduced a new system for measuring audiences, known as “total audience”.
This new approach takes into account not only viewers of traditional television, but also those of streaming and on-demand platforms, as well as other devices. With the “total audience” formula, the second episode of Sanremo recorded an average of 11.700.000 viewers and a 64,5 percent share: 14.848.000 viewers (63,62 percent share) in the first part and 7.577.000 viewers (67,14 percent share) in the second part.
