The strong earthquake of magnitude 4.4 recorded today at 12:07 in the Campi Flegrei area was clearly felt by the population, but at the moment no damage has been reported.

Great fear among residents not only in the Phlegraean municipalities, but also in various areas of the city of Naples. In many schools, students were evacuated as a precaution. Scenes of panic also in homes and offices: many people poured into the streets, frightened above all by the violence of the main shock.
At Federico II, the university buildings of Fuorigrotta, Agnano and via Claudio were immediately evacuated, as required by the safety protocol. After the technical inspections, activities resumed regularly. No critical issues were reported, however, in the other university locations.
Some minor damage – such as fallen objects and displaced furniture – has been reported in private homes. Meanwhile, Civil Protection technicians and firefighters are working to carry out structural checks on the buildings and determine whether there are any significant injuries.
