Naples, after a swapped embryo, the father issues a formal notice to the hospital: "I had to call the police for the medical records."

He returned to the San Paolo Hospital in Naples to obtain his daughter's medical records, but what should have been a simple procedure turned into a tense moment. The girl's father, 41, claims he formally requested the documents last August and returned to the hospital after receiving assurances that he could collect them in the coming days.

The file, however, was not delivered to him.

"I was forced to call the police to secure my rights," said the man, assisted, along with his wife, by the lawyer Francesco Petruzzi.

The police intervention and the warning

According to the 41-year-old, after the documents were not released, there were moments of tension within the hospital. At that point, the man requested the intervention of the State Police and contacted his lawyer.

Attorney Petruzzi then sent a formal formal notice to the healthcare facility. At the end of the matter, according to the father, a date was finally set for the delivery of the medical records: September 18th.

"Only after the intervention of the police and my lawyer did I finally get a delivery date," the 41-year-old said.

The case of the little girl

The story revolves around the birth of the little girl, who was born on June 3, 2025, after in vitro fertilization. Subsequently, DNA testing confirmed that the man was not the child's biological father.

The discovery prompted the couple to file a complaint. The investigation now centers on the hypothesis that, during the medically assisted reproduction process, the woman may have been transferred an embryo belonging to another couple.

A hypothesis that will have to be verified by investigators and by the investigations ordered by the judiciary.

The prosecutor's investigation

The Naples Public Prosecutor's Office is currently investigating the matter. The proceedings are being conducted by Prosecutor Stella Castaldo of the "Work and Professional Negligence" section, coordinated by Deputy Prosecutor Antonio Ricci.

The tests will clarify what happened during the assisted reproduction process, reconstructing each step of the procedure and verifying the medical documentation.

The medical records requested by the father could therefore be an important element in reconstructing the story. Meanwhile, the family's priority remains to acquire all the documentation relating to the mother's medical history and the child's birth.

Delivery on September 18th

After the tense day at the San Paolo hospital, the father received a date for the release of the documents. The appointment was set for September 18th.
