The third edition of the campaign promoted by the NGO Action Against Hunger will start soon: from October 16 to December 31, by eating in one of the participating restaurants or pizzerias, you can donate 2 euros to ensure food for a malnourished child. About sixty restaurants and pizzerias from all over the peninsula have joined, with a solidarity dish and menu, the third edition of Restaurants Against Hunger, the solidarity campaign that, involving restaurants, chefs and food lovers, gives the joy of food to many malnourished children around the world. The restaurants present the campaign to customers and can choose a solidarity dish or complete menu, to which they can associate their own donation. They can also organize a special evening with a percentage of the proceeds going to Action Against Hunger. Customers, on the other hand, if they choose that dish or menu, donate 2 euros of "solidarity cover charge" to "add a place at the table" and ensure food for a malnourished child. The new feature of this 2017 edition is “Pizza has never been so good”: for the first time, pizzerias have also been involved in the campaign. Customers donate 50 cents on every Margherita pizza they taste and pizzerias choose a special pizza dedicated to Action Against Hunger to which they associate their own donation. There will also be chef ambassadors who promote the campaign through their image and chefs in action who try to raise awareness in their region, inviting local restaurants to join. The chef ambassadors include Andrea Aprea, Executive chef of the Vun Andrea Aprea restaurant at the Park Hyatt in Milan and Marco Sacco, chef of the Piccolo Lago restaurant in Verbania. Among the master pizza chefs, the name of Gianfranco Iervolino of the pizzeria Morsi&Rimorsi in Aversa, province of Caserta, stands out. He is a Neapolitan winner of numerous awards and is present in various guides: “I chose to support Action Against Hunger because we cannot remain indifferent to the many children who are still dying of hunger today. Our small gesture can make a difference, and together we will build a world free from hunger”.
