The second stage of China's Long March 5B rocket has re-entered the atmosphere over the Indian Ocean, in an area near the Maldives, the Human Spaceflight Office of China's space agency CNSA said.
The reentry was also confirmed by data from the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). Compared to the initial estimates, they indicated the North Atlantic as the probable point of reentry, then the Mediterranean basin. The passage of the space debris on the trajectory that affected a good part of Italy therefore occurred without impacts.
