Campania Welfare Call. Fight school dropout, innovate services for children from 0 to 6 years old, promote environmental education, prevent and fight new addictions among adolescents such as gambling addiction, but also provide support for the organization of courses that aim to strengthen parental responsibility and for women in disadvantaged conditions or victims of violence.
These are the objectives set by the Campania Welfare Foundation (formerly the Banco Napoli Foundation for Child Care) which has allocated, thanks to a contribution from the Campania Region, 600 thousand euros for the co-financing of projects that focus on the social inclusion of our children and adolescents. Third Sector Associations, social cooperatives, socially oriented start-ups and other non-profit organizations will be able to submit their candidacy: the details for the Expression of Interest are on the website www.fbnai.it. Applications can be submitted according to the criteria and methods described in the public notice by August 27.
These are important resources, especially if we consider that many of the population groups most affected by the crisis were at risk of poverty even before the coronavirus, such as young people or temporary workers. In many families, the lack of income was compounded by the lack of computers and internet connections or environments suitable for distance learning for children.
"It's obvious - Explains Patrizia Stasi, President of the Campania Welfare Foundation – that those most affected by the pandemic are subjects who were already among the most vulnerable; the crisis has exacerbated poverty for the weakest social groups and it is, unfortunately, reasonable to think that the difficulties manifested in this year and a half could have lasting repercussions".
Analyses on the social impact of the pandemic highlight a “retreat” that is hitting many families hard but not all in the same way: “the most substantial difference concerns the generational aspect – continues President Stasi – with younger families, and therefore with smaller children, hit twice as hard as older families; their economic difficulty reduces their potential to adequately support, also on the social side, their family unit”.
"Social distancing rules – concludes Patrizia Stasi – they also have effects on the individual identity that is built in relationships with others, with family, with friends and with work colleagues. This is why this intervention is a breath of fresh air essential to support and restart all the energies and synergies possible to reduce the discomfort, intervening through the network of associations, on minors and the most fragile groups"
