Campania. Green Europe-Campania and the radio host Gianni Simioli are calling on citizens to donate blood to the children of Santobono-Pausilipon. The appointment is for Friday, August 6 at 11:XNUMX.
The call was necessary in a period where donations and collection of blood and plasma continue to decrease, also due to the emergence of covid, throughout the country but also abroad. 139.000 fewer units of red blood cells and 17.500 fewer units of plasma, is the balance of 2020 compared to the previous year according to the National Blood Center.
"The blood banks continue to empty inexorably, donations decrease dramatically and in Campania, in our territory, the situation is disastrous. We must reflect, we must understand that donating blood is not only an act of love towards others, it is also a 'duty'. It is contradictory to abstain from donating when then the continuous medical emergencies lead to continuous appeals and despair because there is a shortage of blood.
If we donated consistently throughout the year, these situations would not arise, which is why we are calling on all those who can donate and inviting them to show up on Friday at 11 am at Santobobo-Pausilipon in via Posillipo to help the children. Many people think that having had covid or having been vaccinated is a limitation in donating. Instead, we want to remind everyone that even those who have had covid can donate, as long as at least 14 days have passed since the complete resolution of symptoms, while those vaccinated with Moderna or Pfizer can donate at least 48 hours after each vaccination episode or after a month if they have received other vaccines.”– thus expressed themselves the Regional Councillor Francesco Emilio Borrelli and municipal councilor Gianni Caselli, both from Europa Verde.
