Between music, poetry and art, on April 12th in Naples, the Pietà de 'Turchini Foundation hosts the artist in season Julia Krahn.
"A new evening with a European flavour – underlines Federica Castaldo, president of the Foundation – after the success of the Lina Tur Bonet concert last Sunday. These events are the result of the now consolidated cooperation between our Foundation and the city branches of the Cervantes and Goethe cultural institutes".
Music and poetry are the medium that Julia Krahn uses to address the delicate theme of imprisonment and persecution. An aberrant condition, very current today, that we find in most of the most deleterious war practices without distinction of politics and religious belief.
On Tuesday 12th April (20.30 pm), in the monumental complex of Santa Caterina da Siena, the German artist presents in Naples the show entitled “Hilde – The Eternal Return by Lutz".
On stage an original poetic and musical project, realized in collaboration with Musica Etcetera of Lübeck, which evokes the memory and recollection of the excruciating imprisonment of Ludwig Huesch (the artist's grandfather) in a Siberian concentration camp. Through the postcards addressed to his beloved wife Hilde, found by Julia Krahn in the attic of his ancestral home in Aachen, grandfather Ludwig overcame the horror of his condition, thus banishing fear, isolation and distance, cold and hunger.
Love that translates into poetry in the story told by the artist and in the music (by Beethoven, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Schubert, Nietzsche, Mahler, Schumann, Poulenc, Skrjabin) chosen by Edoardo Toffoletto and performed on the piano by Ester De Stefano, which gradually underline its temperatures and suggestions. The proceeds of the evening will support the activities of Save the Children-Ukraine.
