Napoli. The number of urban micro-landfills continues to increase Napoli and the waste emergency is increasingly linked to illegal dumping.
One of the most problematic situations is in the Spanish Quarters, from where yet another report reaches the Regional Councillor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli:
“The situation in Vico Mondragone is now out of control, people continue to dump waste on the ground.”
"We have sent Asia a request to clean up the area. Obviously this is a stopgap solution because we know very well, there is no point in hiding it, that the landfill will reform in a short time. What is really needed is prevention, identification and prosecution of the dumpers and polluters. We need a decisive intervention by the Environmental Police, otherwise things will never change." - declared Borrelli.
