There were 5 million 507 thousand viewers, with a share of 27 percent, who followed the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 1 live on Rai20.58 – from 23.13 pm to 2022 pm. This was reported by Rai.
The Ukrainian band “Kalush Band” with the song “Stefania” conquers the Turin audience and flies to the final. They will return to the stage of the final on Saturday 14 May together with the other 10 countries that will be chosen on Thursday in the second semi-final, the “finalists by right” France, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom and Italy and the other 10 singers who were classified last night for the most anticipated evening.
Among the 16 songs participating in the first semi-final of Eurovision last night, Switzerland, Armenia, Iceland, Lithuania, Portugal, Norway, Greece, Ukraine, Moldova and the Netherlands ranked highest.
Kalush Orchestra is a Ukrainian band formed in 2019 consisting of Oleh Psyuk, Ihor Didenčuk and MC Kilimmen. Their song “Stefania” ranges between folk, pop and rap in a mix of genres and sounds that makes you dance and at the same time excites.
The song tells about the protection in the mother's arms and the tender words whispered to the child in the past and was written by the singer Psyuk for his mother.
However, with the outbreak of the conflict it inevitably became a hymn to the “mother country” and to peace, as evidenced by the phrase “we will find the way home even if all the roads are destroyed”.
A message of hope that brought the single among the candidates for the final victory of the competition, tied with “Brividi” by Blanco and Mahmood.
