Annunziata Tower. A manifesto with delirious accusations and threats against the magistrates of the public prosecutor's office Torre Annunziata, a municipality recently dissolved due to mafia involvement: it was posted in front of the courthouse of the populous town in the Vesuvian area.
The poster was removed and seized by the Carabinieri, who are investigating the episode. Support for the magistrates, engaged in various and delicate investigations against organized crime, and not only, has come from politics.
"The Democratic Party expresses full solidarity with the Prosecutor Nunzio Fragliasso and the entire Prosecutor's Office of Torre Annunziata. What happened is extremely serious", reads a note from Marco Sarracino, provincial secretary of the PD of NAPLES and Paolo Persico, PD commissioner in Torre Annunziata. "We are faced with a clear attempt to challenge the State and those who work daily to fight illegality".
"We need - they continue - a collective mobilization of a political and civic nature, parallel to strong institutional acts, so that a wall against the Camorra and corruption is erected and consolidated. In this regard, the PD of NAPLES has decided to call for Monday 16 May, at the headquarters of the PD of Torre Annunziata, an assembly with all the secretaries of the municipalities that in recent years have been dissolved for Camorra infiltration".
According to Catello Vitiello, a member of parliament for Italia Viva, “the episode of intimidation to which the top officials of the Torre Annunziata Prosecutor's Office were subjected is a serious and dangerous fact that must be the subject of profound reflection.
I express my personal solidarity, as a lawyer and as a member of parliament, to the prosecutor Nunzio Fragliasso and his deputies, Emilio Prisco and Alessandra Riccio, who were threatened by a poster with dangerous and serious content illegally posted last night in front of the Court.
Respect for the law also and above all requires formal and substantial respect for the positions that deal with the administration of justice. We are convinced - concludes Vitiello - that the investigation will succeed in ascertaining the responsibilities of these threats to the Oplonti judicial authority".
“The Committee for the Liberation of the Camorra and the Corruption of the Southern Area of Naples expresses solidarity and closeness to the Public Prosecutor of Torre Annunziata, Nunzio Fragliasso, to the deputy prosecutors Alessandra Riccio and Emilio Prisco and to all the investigating magistrates, attacked with some posters posted in front of the Court of Torre Annunziata.
We express indignation and alarm, appealing to the institutions to further increase the level of surveillance and security of the Palace of Justice of Torre Annunziata.
It was a warning that took the form of a clear threat against those magistrates engaged on the front lines and in complex investigations into the connections between politics, business and the Camorra in Torre Annunziata, Castellammare di Stabia and Torre del Greco.
We hope that the investigations will shed light as soon as possible and hit the perpetrators of the act. We will not leave the servants of the State alone, we will be their civic escort. There is no going back”. This was stated in a note by the Committee for the liberation from the Camorra and from corruption in the Southern Area of Naples.
