Ercolano. A large-scale operation was carried out yesterday, Sunday, by all the volunteers of the Hippocampus ODV association.
Men and equipment took to the field early in the morning to clean the beach and the seabed of the Borbonico pier in Ercolano. Among the curious bathers who were watching, the divers of the Hippocampus association dived, bringing tons of trash which lay on the seabed.
Plastic, ropes, bottles, nets. A serious threat to the marine ecosystem. A large-scale operation. A gazebo informed citizens about the activities in progress. A boat kept watch from the sea and then divers in the water and personnel along the beaches. Not satisfied with having cleaned the seabed in front of the Borbonico pier, the volunteers headed to the beaches. They cleaned the beaches and distributed free portable ashtrays for the sea to bathers.
An initiative much appreciated by the bathers. Satisfaction from the president Ciro Borrelli: “Every year we clean up the sea and the beaches here in Ercolano and we will never stop. The well-being of the environment, the beaches and the sea is a topic that is very close to our hearts. We have been taking action with these initiatives for years and we will continue with ever greater determination. We love the sea, we love the environment”.
