I don't care, the new single by Kefàli. On the radio and in digital stores
Warm, enveloping and penetrating vocals, plenty of grit and a world-class charisma are the distinctive traits of Kefàli and her artistic journey which, after last year's very successful debut with the very intense "Ex", returns to the radio and digital stores with "I Don't Care" (Cosmophonix Artist Development/Altafonte Italia), her second single with which she gives the public a new and rediscovered self-confidence.
If in “Ex”, the young and multifaceted artist from Bergamo who has adopted New York analyzed her life after the end of a relationship that had been idealized for a long time, and for this reason, troubled and painful, with her new release, Kefàli transposes into music her path of growth and personal awareness, which, day after day, led her to rediscover herself, searching in every corner of her heart for the best version of herself.
Produced by the inimitable and impeccable touch of the multiplatinum Mantua team, “I Don't Care” is a declaration of determination and self-love, a rushing vortex of positive vibes within which you can breathe the goals achieved on the arduous path towards your own balance, to reinvigorate yourself with new life. A very powerful cyclone of rhythm and sensuality, capable of overwhelming and fortifying the listener with vigorous waves of self-esteem, putting an end to everything that does not validate our essence, but drags us into unpleasant memories, among the arteries of our experience, taking away time and space from the wonderful and daily revelation of what we really are, as Kefàli herself tells:
“”I Don't Care” was born from the desire to say enough to those toxic push and pull that often become a vicious circle of dissatisfaction. There comes a time when, finally, we appreciate ourselves and let go of what doesn't make us feel good. I want to make those who listen to this song feel sexy and strong, make them dance and remind them that it doesn't matter what others say or do, because it's definitely better to be alone than with someone who doesn't deserve us”.
"It's just that you never remind me of what I'm worth even on my own", is one of the most representative passages of the entire song, with which the brilliant singer-songwriter, writer, actress, theater producer and founder of the socio-educational association "La Musica del Cuore" (here all the info about it), highlights a sadly common cross-section of contemporary society - and in the methodical and customary nature of human beings -, accustomed to taking affection, attention and constant presence for granted, forgetting, too often, that love is a seed to be cultivated, both towards others and towards oneself.
But even after having gone through long and aseptic winters, it is possible to become self-sufficient in one's entirety - "I'm self-sufficient, you haven't understood it yet" -, learning not to give weight to justifications and emotional blackmail - "you try again, it will be a waste of breath, cause I don't care" -, but above all, that love is not something that completes us, but a light and incessant breeze capable of exalting an identity integrity to be sought only and exclusively within ourselves, in that subjective universe made up of solid rocks and small and large grains of insecurities; fragments of pain, hesitations and fragility, that those who love us deeply, those who can perceive and appreciate our soul and not just our body, will never try to eliminate or suppress - "you want to change me baby, I'm not into it" -, but rather, to keep as a symbol of our uniqueness, as a characteristic, peculiarity that, together with all the others, make us the recipient of his feeling.
A true hymn to self-respect and personal empowerment, especially female empowerment, which, very often, is not given enough credit and value:
“We always talk about how we women feel during a harmful and damaging relationship – concludes the artist -, almost never about how we get back up, how we feel afterwards, how important and conducive it is to healing internal wounds by understanding that we deserve more. Meghan Trainor has been my main source of inspiration; the grit that her music transmits to me is the same that I hope to instill in those who listen to me”.
“I Don't Care” is this, a liberating scream capable of expressing, in an excellent mix of charm, elegance and ardour, the will not to settle, ceasing to chase a fictitious satisfaction with ambiguous and ambivalent traits, to pursue a real and totalizing well-being, with the awareness that being accepted and loved for what you are, is not a meritocratic issue, but the starting point from which to build a future with two hearts and four hands.
