San Giorgio, the concession of the former Abb area to Asl Na 3 Sud was approved in the council. Structures will be built to enhance health services. Project financed with almost 5 million euros from the PNRR plan.
The City Council, chaired by Michele Carbone, unanimously approved the free concession to Asl Na 3 Sud of the surface rights of a portion of the Ex Abb Area facing via Cappiello, for the construction of a community hospital, a community home and the ASL operations center as part of the PNRR program.
A project of approximately 4 million 900 thousand euros carried out by ASL Napoli 3 Sud that will redevelop a part of this area and will offer a fundamental service to users, assisting the sick and people who need short-term hospitalization and who are part of the essential levels of assistance. The community health facility will in fact represent a very important resource for the City of San Giorgio a Cremano, as it will not only strengthen the territorial health service, but will also represent the best response to the city's needs in terms of assistance at a local level. Currently there is only one community hospital in the whole of Campania, in Bisaccia (Av) and none in the province of Naples.
For this project, which is part of the "Mission 6- HEALTH" of the PNRR, thanks to the discussions of the past months and the willingness of the Administration, led by Mayor Giorgio Zinno, to cede portions of its property in order to redevelop them with new services, it was possible for the ASL to invest the highest funding in the entire Campania Region in the territory.
“Today the City Council, approving the concession of the land identified unanimously – explains Mayor Giorgio Zinno – confirmed that when the future of our city and citizen services is at stake, there are no differences of belonging and strengthened the work done on this issue so far by the Administration as a whole. Looking ahead to the benefits for our city, we have in fact put in place a great synergy through the fruitful dialogue between the two entities, which will now continue with the new General Director Giuseppe Russo, in the common interest of bringing an enormous benefit to the community. The Health Authority will undertake to start the construction of the facilities in a short time and at its own expense.
The health facilities will also be integrated with the broader urban regeneration project already started in the same area (called Ex Abb) for which the municipality has already obtained PNRR funds amounting to 3.300.000 euros which provide for the creation of a green area with neighborhood sports facilities and an interconnection axis between via Gramsci and via Cappiello, in addition to other funding linked to the PNRR and other bodies and also those of private individuals who will guarantee a revolution in that area in the coming years.”
