On the stage of the Salvo D'Acquisto Auditorium in via Morghen, Saturday 28 January 2023, the musical review “Vomero Suona” continues with the concert of the Claudio Filippini Trio “Oltre il Trio”. The lineup includes improvisation, original pieces composed by pianist Claudio Filippini and reworkings of classics from the American songbook.
The trio's sound is rich in nuances and suggestions, in which what emerges is the extraordinary harmony between the musicians who, alongside the undisputed mastery of their instruments, let that playful and light-hearted soul shine through that is so rare to see in groups of this type.
A double work, that of Filippini, between tradition and innovation: if on the one hand it evokes the classics, on the other it inserts references to chamber music, electronics and psychedelia. A project in continuous evolution, cared for down to the smallest details but endowed with an immediacy fully restored by the excellent interplay between the musicians.
The trio has performed at many of the world's most important jazz festivals including Umbria Jazz (Perugia), Auditorium Parco Della Musica (Rome), Bulgari Ginza Tower (Tokyo), Bikaner House (Delhi), Institute Menesez (Goa), Akbank Sanat (Istanbul).

For two years, the “Vomero Suona” festival has been trying to fill a void that has always been felt in Naples with regard to the offering of jazz music during the winter season, particularly in the Vomero district, where, despite a resident population of over 150.000, the facilities capable of offering an opportunity for significant cultural enrichment, entertainment for young people and social gathering during the winter period are practically non-existent, even before the outbreak of the pandemic, which has only worsened the existing situation.
