He was attacked by his pit bull puppy while trying to pick him up from his kennel to take him to the vet for a check-up.
The man, a seventy-year-old from Lauro, in the province of AVELLINO, owner of a bar in the historic center of the town, was seriously injured by bites from the one-and-a-half-year-old dog to the face, eyes and head and was transported in red code to the "Moscati" hospital in Avellino by a 118 ambulance.
Despite the severity of the man's injuries, his life is not considered in danger. His brother-in-law, who intervened to restrain the pit bull, was also injured.
