The Civil Protection of the Campania Region has announced that there is still meteorological instability: even today, intense thunderstorms, although highly localized, could occur between 14 pm and 21 pm.
The Functional Center, based on the analysis of mathematical models, has assessed a possible hydrogeological criticality of Yellow level. As already highlighted in recent days, even today the precipitations could have a particular consistency in some areas and be accompanied by hail, lightning, gusts of wind.
Therefore, there is a hydrogeological risk due to storms with phenomena of impact on the ground such as flooding, rising water levels of watercourses, water flow on roads, runoff with transport of material, falling rocks or landslides in fragile territories.
Due to the characteristics of this disturbance, attention must also be paid to the risk of damage to roofs from hailstorms and the risk of damage to temporary structures as well as falling branches or trees from gusts of wind. Maximum attention is recommended, even in the absence of precipitation, for a residual risk in the areas affected by precipitation in recent days.
The regional civil protection also reminded the municipalities of the necessary activation of the Coc (Municipal Operations Centers) and of the measures aimed at preventing, contrasting and mitigating the expected phenomena, also in line with the respective municipal civil protection plans.
