On the eve of the start of the new service plan scheduled for tomorrow, with trains on the Naples-Sorrento line no longer making intermediate stops between the capital and Torre Annunziata, more bad news arrives for users of the Circumvesuviana.
In fact, on Friday 7th July, Orsa proclaimed a 4-hour workers' strike, ''to protest – reads a note released by the union – against a company that has decided to no longer respect the rules, even those it itself issued”.
The abstention from services will be carried out from 9:00 to 13:00 ”to make Eav management understand – continue from Orsa – that they are not above the rules and that respect for them, but above all for workers and users, must be put first among their priorities”.
”The strike is always an 'extreme' act – add from the union – In the transport sector, it is the end of a long journey, with attempts at conciliation, first within the company and then with the mediation of the Prefecture. Well, one might ask, could it have been avoided? Certainly, it could have been avoided, it would have been enough for Eav to have remained faithful to what it had declared and signed in the Prefecture.
This was not the case. We at the Orsa union apologize to users for the inconvenience caused, but we have no other tool to protest and demonstrate our complete disagreement with the policy that Eav management has in the management and use of personnel, in the change of working hours, in the payment of what is due in the paycheck, in the closure and disabling of station facilities”.
